Points will be tallied for the year and a Dukes of Ale Homebrewer of the Year will be named. Prizes will be determined later, e.g. a first prize and maybe a party for the top 5 or 10 members.
The Dukes of Ale will hold 6 club-only competitions this year that will encompass various BJCP categories. The Dukes of Ale Club-Only Competitions will correspond with the AHA Club-Only Competition program (http://beertown.org/homebrewing/club.html). These competitions are open to current Dukes of Ale members only. If the winning entry scores a 25 or higher based on BJCP guidelines it will be submitted to the corresponding AHA Club-Only competition to compete nationwide against other homebrew clubs.
The judging for the Dukes of Ale Club-Only Competitions will occur during regular scheduled monthly meetings. All entries will be judged by 2 judges; we will do our best to ensure at least one judge is BJCP certified. The Dukes of Ale will incur all entry and shipping costs for submitting the winning entry to the AHA competition.
To Enter Each of These Competitions:
Rubber-band a complete Bottle ID Form to each of four (4) brown or green glass, 10 to 14 ounce bottles of brew. Clear-glass bottles will be disqualified. Bottles with raised glass lettering are discouraged. 2 of the 4 bottles will be used for the Dukes of Ale competition, and the remaining 2 will be submitted to the AHA competition for the qualifying winning entry. Using a permanent black marker, obliterate any and all words or pictures on the caps.
